Tier 4 Visa

Two Tier 4 Levels: Tier 4 Child ( For students upto age 16-17) and Tier 4 (General) For age 18 & above

To Qualify for a Tier 4 visa, students need to score 40 points: 30 points are awarded for CAS + 10 points for meeting financial requirements

Academic Technology Approval Scheme – A special approval required for certain technology related fields – some engineering, Physics , nuclear subjects etc. 

Bank Statement Requirement

Tuition fee + Living expenses for one year

Average Tuition Fee: around £10000-12000

Living Expenses inside London: £12006 (£1334 per month for 9 months)

Living Expenses outside London: £ 9207 (£1023 per month for 9 months)

Clients are Advised to open a Pound Sterling bank account to avoid issues of currency fluctuation or put extra money in bank account.

Required funds must be in the account for 28 days on the day of applying for visa.

No savings certificates of National Savings centre  acceptable. Only bank statement from a regular bank.

Bank statement must not be more than 31 days old when applicant applies for visa.

Bank loans issued as Academic or Educational Loan Scheme are also acceptable.

Visa Process

Apply for Visa through on UK Border Agency website. Not more than 90 days before course commencement.

Online form is filled up, appointment date and time selected and visa fee paid online with our debit card.

Visa form print is taken, required documents attached and file is handed over to client for submission at VFS Global Office.

Biometrics and interview at VFS Global.

We will prepare student for an interview.

After Interview student gets visa.(Visa process time – 3 weeks)

In case of refusal, an administrative review /appeal can be filed Students

Get 30 days visa to travel.

Upon reaching in the UK, he / she gets a card from nearest post office or university.

Student can not travel more than 30 days before course commencement (degree level students)

Part Time Job-Allowed for Public Universities & Colleges

Degree Level Course: 20 hours per week during term, 40 hours per week during vacations.

Below Degree level: 10 hours per week during term, 40 hour per week during vacations.

Visa Guidelines

There are two types of visas:

Child Student Visa ( for 16 or 17 years old and seeking admission in Independent School for O /A Level) Student Visa – For 18 and above seeking admission in Bachelor or Master Degree program, or a course leading to a bachelor or Master degree program. 

A Tier 4 (General) applicant must: 

• be a genuine student

• not fall for refusal under general grounds for refusal

• score a total of 40 points by: scoring 30 points for attributes by having a valid Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). scoring 10 points by meeting the maintenance requirements

• hold an Academic Technology Approval Scheme clearance certificate (if studying a relevant course)   

• be at least 16 years old

When to Apply visa: Can apply for visa upto 6 months prior to course commencement from outside the UK-decision in 3 weeks normally. (3 Months before course commencement from inside the UK)

Stay in the UK– Maximum Up to 5 years for a degree program & upto 2 years for a non- degree program

When to Travel on a student Visa: 1 month before course start if course is longer than 6 months, 1 week before course start if course is less than 6 months
